In the hustle and bustle of Saigon, it’s not easy to find a restaurant that brings the warmth of home. Đậu Homemade is a special place where you can enjoy traditional flavors, cozy atmosphere, and dishes prepared with care and love—true to its name, “Homemade.”
Here, you’ll find a wide variety of traditional Northern Vietnamese dishes, especially bún đậu mắm tôm—the signature dish that put Đậu on the food map.
More than just a place for culinary experiences, Đậu Homemade is where you can also immerse yourself in traditional Vietnamese culture through the art of water puppetry.

A signature dish at Đậu Homemade, this vermicelli platter features silky white rice noodles, golden-fried homemade tofu, and a variety of toppings, including boiled pork leg, fragrant green rice sausage, crispy squid cakes, grilled pork sausage, and marinated pork belly with galangal.

Everything is handmade in-house, bringing that true “homemade” essence. The soul of this dish lies in the fermented shrimp paste—strong, flavorful, and elevated with lime and sugar, whisked to a rich, foamy texture.
This Hanoi-originated hotpot is authentically recreated at Đậu with a savory broth made from pork bones and field crab. The broth is perfectly balanced with sourness from vinegar and tomatoes. Dip in fried tofu, fresh beef slices, pork cartilage ribs, and green vegetables. It’s a warming, fragrant dish, perfect for rainy days.

A hearty platter of boiled and fried offal, including intestines, blood sausage, pork stomach, heart, and liver. Carefully cleaned and cooked, served with Vietnamese herbs and fermented shrimp paste, it’s a favorite for lovers of authentic Northern cuisine.

Đậu also offers a variety of classic Hanoi street foods such as:
Fried fermented pork rolls
West Lake shrimp cakes
Steamed snails stuffed with minced pork and herbs
Crispy crab spring rolls

All dishes are made following original Hanoi recipes to ensure authentic taste. See more
Đậu’s traditional sweet soups are a hit with diners. Lovingly cooked daily by the kitchen team, they’re rich in flavor, perfectly sweet, and never overpowering. Ideal for ending your meal or enjoying as a light treat.

Đậu isn’t just a restaurant—it’s also home to a unique mini water puppet theater designed by Founder Hoàng Hương Giang. The puppeteers? None other than Đậu’s own staff members, trained in this traditional Northern art form.
Shows are usually held on weekends or can be booked in advance for groups of 15 or more. Best of all? It’s completely free—no tickets needed.
